“Incidentals” are a “temporary hold” placed on the credit/debit card that’s used when at hotel check-in. These temporary holds show up in different ways depending on your card type:
- Debit: Will show up as an actual charge, and the money will be subtracted from the accounts balance.
- Credit: Will show up as a hold, and the money will not be subtracted from the accounts balance.
This amount varies at each hotel and is used for charges made to your room, such as restaurants, the spa, day passes to the waterpark, or souvenirs at the gift shop. This money is also used if the room is damaged or room policies broken. If the incidental charge amount is exceeded then the charge will become permanent and a new incidental charge will be placed on your card. If there are no charges on the room, the incidental hold will be released back to the card on file within 24 hours of checkout. Banks may keep the hold for up to 3-5 business days. The following policies apply to each of the hotels:
- Orlando World Center Marriott: $50/night incidental charge, no maximum
- Holiday Inn Orlando Waterpark Suites: $50/night incidental charge, $250 maximum
- Buena Vista Suites: $15 one time incidental charge
- Caribe Royale: $60 one time incidental charge
- WorldQuest Orlando: No incidentals
- Marriott Royal Palms: $50/night incidental charge
