Lucero is an urban Indigenous craftsmanship cosplayer of over a decade, who specializes in worldbuilding and storytelling through costume. She is enamored with the way construction techniques, textile choices, patterning, and other material details can help convey everything about a character and the world they live in.

Having been raised in a powwow vending family, she’s been fortunate enough to have been crafting with various mediums since she was a preschooler. It started with basic hand stitching taught by her mother, then beading by her father, and would culminate over the years into her first full costumes and props in 2014.

Since Lucero learned a great deal about cosplaying from others who share resources online, she doesn’t consider herself self-taught but rather community taught.
